Ontario Hauntings is a series of photographs taken in the GTA between the months of January and April. Most of the images were located in Toronto; however, they expand out to Mississauga and even to Niagara Falls. The purpose of this series is to document the different places that are believed to be haunted by ghosts and inform readers of its past. The series is split into two groups: haunted buildings and haunted areas. I used this division to show audiences that houses are not the only things that can be haunted but tunnels and subway platforms can be too.
What makes my series different from all the rest is the strong blue cast present in all prints. The blue cast is a way to create not only a cold and eerie feeling but is also a way to transport the viewers to a more “supernatural” world, where they are faced with images from their everyday but in a different dimension.
