For this project, I decided to focus on abandoned places. I believe exploration photography has always been my strong suit as I show a great deal of interest in this area of photography. I chose to photograph abandoned places as these places usually go unnoticed by the public and every day we walk by many of these places yet we never stop to admire not only the place itself but the history behind the places. I have photographed a variety of places from homes, insane asylums, factories and even boats and have attached brief descriptions on the history of these places in order to add deeper meaning to each of the images.
My photographic series was shot as far west as Hamilton and as far east as Bowmanville. This large distance allows for variety to occur throughout the series however it also highlights the history of these places that many of us may not have known before.
